Made for people who stay awhile.
Northwood Table is a dining house built around the idea that a meal should unfold slowly, with good company and a sense of place. We are a contemporary Canadian restaurant in Montréal, Québec, pairing seasonal Québec cuisine and fire-grilled dishes with a cocktail and whisky bar, and a sophisticated offline poker room for in-person Texas Hold'em table nights.

Rooted in Québec's seasons
Our kitchen is guided by the land around us—the forests, farms, and waters of Québec. We cook with what the season gives, changing the menu as the landscape changes. Partnerships with local farmers and foragers shape each service, and the menu follows the rhythm of spring greens, summer berries, autumn mushrooms, and winter root vegetables. We work with sustainability and respect for the land, letting the ingredients speak before the technique does.
- Spring greens and early herbs
- Summer berries and field vegetables
- Autumn mushrooms and orchard fruit
- Winter root vegetables and preserved harvests
The restaurant's design reflects the northern forest: dark timber, natural stone, and subtle topographic linework. It's a space that feels both rustic and refined, with warm wood, stone, and fire elements throughout. The atmosphere shifts from daylight dining to evening card room without ever losing the woodland character.
Cooking over open flame
Fire is at the heart of our kitchen. We grill over hardwood coals, giving our dishes a deep, smoky flavour that can't be replicated. It's a primal, honest way to cook. Local hardwoods like maple and oak feed the grill, and the menu moves across grilled meats, fish, and vegetables with equal care. Fire also appears in the dining room's hearth and the card room's ambiance, connecting every part of the evening to the same source of warmth.
The fire isn't just for cooking; it's part of the experience. Guests can see the open kitchen and feel the warmth of the hearth, connecting them to the food's origins. Seasonal menu items cooked over fire change throughout the year, but the smell of hardwood smoke and the sound of the grill remain constant.
Long tables, shared stories
Our dining room is built around long communal tables, encouraging conversation and connection. It's a place where strangers become friends over a shared meal. Long wooden tables inspired by forest gatherings anchor the room, and private dining options are available for special occasions. The table is a symbol of hospitality and togetherness, not just a piece of furniture.
After dinner, the table transforms. Our card room hosts in-person Texas Hold'em nights, where the focus is on skill, strategy, and camaraderie—not gambling. It's a sophisticated, offline experience with physical tables, felt, and chips in a restrained, editorial style. Guests must be 18 or older to enter the card room.

A team that stays awhile
Our team is made up of people who believe in taking the time to do things right—from sourcing ingredients to pouring the perfect whisky. We're hosts, not just servers. Chefs, bartenders, and hosts share a passion for Québec cuisine and a commitment to hospitality and responsible service. There is no celebrity chef here; the focus is on the collective, and every role contributes to the feeling that you can settle in and stay.
We designed Northwood Table to be a place where you can lose track of time—whether you're enjoying a long dinner, a whisky by the fire, or a few hands of poker. Comfortable seating and warm lighting encourage lingering, and there is no rush to turn tables. As the evening moves later, the atmosphere shifts to a more intimate, card-room feel. Stay awhile.
Play with care
Our card room is for adults aged 18 and over. We promote responsible play and ensure that poker remains a social, enjoyable experience. It's about the game, not the stakes. Age verification is required at entry, there is no online gambling or payments, and our staff are trained in responsible service.
Come for dinner, stay for the night
Whether you're here for a seasonal meal or a few hands of poker, we'd love to have you. Book a table or request a seat at our next table night. Reservations are required for dining, and table night seats are limited and require confirmation.
